Fruit trees

For millennia, human beings have been grateful to have fruit trees nearby. Plants that, in addition to providing shade, also produce fruits suitable for consumption. Although we are not experts on the history of human evolution, we are convinced that we have been learning what are the safe varieties by observing other animals, and probably also by trial and error.

Nowadays there are safer methods to know if a fruit is edible or not. For this reason, in the hypothetical case that a hitherto unknown tree is found, the safest thing is that its fruit will be taken to a laboratory for analysis. There, scientists would see if it contains any toxic or poisonous substance, or not.
