Water is essential for there to be life. Trees use it in the production of leaves, flowers, branches, and fruits, as well as to develop their roots and trunks. Nevertheless, not available equally everywhere in the world: for example, in the north of Europe it rains more frequently than in the south of the continent, let alone in north Africa or in western Australia.
Therefore, the trees have had to adapt the best they have known to living in the conditions of their habitat in order to survive. And in doing so, although many species have disappeared, others have appeared, which are the ones we know today.
Now when we go looking for one, it is important that you keep in mind what your water needs are. Water is a scarce resource, therefore, we have to take advantage of it to the best of our ability, and one way of doing this is by planting trees that can adapt without problems to the conditions in our area.
But sometimes they do need a watering. In those cases, how and when should they be watered? What kind of water to use? We are going to solve these and other questions here, in the Irrigation section.
